Visit Two Stark County Museums for Free!

Smithsonian Magazine’s annual Museum Day Live event is coming up on Sat., Sept. 29, 2012. You and a guest will be able to visit two Stark County museums that day for free, the Massillon Museum and Canton Museum of Art.

Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day Live LogoA visit to the Massillon Museum is always free, but why not use Museum Day Live as an excuse for a visit? The Massillon Museum is an art and history museum located in downtown Massillon, Ohio. It features a wide range of art and history exhibitions, on themes of local, regional and national interest. Currently, you can view the Stark County Artists Exhibition and “Supporting Our Champions” exhibit. The museum will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Museum Day Live.

The Canton Museum of Art will also be offering free admission that day, it is not always free! Located in the Cultural Center for the Arts in downtown Canton, the Canton Museum of Art’s nationally recognized Permanent Collection focuses on 19th and 20th Century American watercolors and works on paper, as well as an outstanding collection of contemporary ceramics. The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Museum Day Live.

To receive free admission, you must visit the Museum Day Live website to download your ticket. Get your ticket and enjoy some free fun!

Danielle, at Find Time for Fun, has put together a great list of other northeast Ohio museums offering free admission that day as well.
