5 Things to Do in Stark County This Weekend: July 27-29

It’s another busy summer weekend in the Canton/Stark County area! These are just five great events happening, but there are many more. Please be sure to visit our calendar of events for the complete listing of events for the weekend.

2. Maneki Neko Special Collection: Through October 31

Did you know the national Feline Historical Museum, operated by the Cat Fancier’s Association Foundation, is located in Alliance? If you’re a cat lover, you’ll enjoy this special exhibit of over 160 “Japanese Welcoming Cats.”

3. Overboard Lunch & Dinner Theater: July 27-28

Take a relaxing drive to the Amish Door Village for this old-fashioned tale of grit and redemption and how a coward saved a country. Enjoy an afternoon or evening of great entertainment and their wonderful Amish food!

4. Down at the Boardwalk: July 28

Cool down the summer with a family fun day “Down at the Boardwalk.” Enjoy swimming in the Massillon Recreation Center’s Aquatic Center (complete with indoor water slides), boardwalk games, food and live music from a local band!

5. Pond Day: July 28

Join Wilderness Center Naturalist Carrie Elvey at the Wilderness Center’s pond from 10-11:30 a.m. and dip-net to to discover the amazing animals that live there. Then at 11:30 a.m., take the critters to the lab and look at them with microscopes. This is event is free!
