5 Things to Do in Stark County This Weekend: August 10-12

Only a few more weeks until the kids are back in school, so get out and enjoy the great events happening in Stark County this weekend!

Downtown Massillon Fun Fest

Free Fun at the Downtown Massillon Fun Fest

1. Greater Alliance Carnation Festival: August 9-19

This 11 day event provides all kinds of fun! From a Rib Fest to Car Show, Fire Truck Pump-In to Vintage Baseball and musical entertainment every night, it’s got it all! Click on the link above to get the full schedule of events.

2. Lincoln Highway BUY-WAY Yard Sale: August 9-11

This not your typical yard sale! Stretching from Ohio to Iowa along the old Lincoln Highway, it’s a pickers paradise! In Stark County there will be sales dotting the Lincoln Highway (US Route 30/Tuscarawas St/Lincoln Way). Watch the classified section of the Canton Repository for listings.

3. 4th Street Concert Series: August 10

Enjoy the music Broken Road: A Rascal Flatts Tribute Band under the festive string lights along 4th St. NW in the Canton Arts District. Grab a bite to eat at one of the many downtown eateries before the show starts at 7:30 p.m.

4. Friends of Stark Parks Canalway Classic 5k: August 11

Enjoy a shaded run or walk along the Ohio & Erie Canal between Navarre and Massillon during the Canalway Classic 5k. Special family rates are available, so bring the kids!

5. Fun Fest: August 11

This kid-friendly event held annually in downtown Massillon is a family favorite. Enjoy crafts, contests, music, petting zoo, balloons, games, inflatables, bookmobile, dancing,  free movie and that’s the short list! So many fun things to do and nearly all the activities are free!
