Animals will frolic for a fun, feathered and frisky evening in the Canton Arts District from 6-10 p.m at May 4th’s First Friday. Stark Parks will be toting toads, turtles and tarantulas at various locations around the District, catch a free viewing of Madagascar at the Canton Palace Theatre, enjoy live music, art exhibits throughout the district, and great food at downtown restaurants.
2. Free Comic Book Day Super Celebration: May 5
Present by The Toys Time Forgot in Canal Fulton, Free Comic Book Day Super Celebration is a free event featuring a surprise guest, a T.V. Car Cruise-In, free food, balloons, giveaways for the kids, and much more. Stop by with the family for a great day of fun.
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at the Hartville MarketPlace! Bring the kids for a piñata breaking at 10am and 2pm. Enjoy live performances by folkloric dance group La Pilarika and mariachi singer Mariana. Feast on chips and salsa from Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant and fried ice cream.
4. 21st Annual Battle of Magicians: May 5-6
It’s fun time again in Canton, Ohio as the “Battle of Magicians” 21st Annual Magic, Comedy and Illusion Show takes the stage at the Canton Palace Theatre. This year’s show promises to be one of the best ever with some of the most exciting and hilarious acts in the world. Performances are Saturday, May 5 at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 6 at 2:00 p.m.
5. Quail Hollow Art, Craft & Herb Fair: May 5-6
Journey through historic Hartville to beautiful Quail Hollow State Park for the annual Quail Hollow Art, Craft & Herb Fair. Artisans will be located on all three floors of the historic Stewart Manor House and on the lawns surrounding the home. The Herbal Society will have their annual plant sale with over 150 varieties of culinary, decorative, herbs and flowering plants.
