5 Things to Do in Canton/Stark County This Weekend: July 5-8

1. Dragonfly Tea and Dinner Cruise: July 5

Enjoy a meal catered by the Dragonfly Tea Room aboard the St. Helena III Canal Boat in Canal Fulton as you glide along the Ohio & Erie Canal.

2. Butterfly House Opens at the Beech Creek Botanical Gardens: July 5 – September 9

My kids have been anxiously awaiting the return of the butterflies to Beech Creek Botanical Gardens. Starting July 5 the Butterfly House will be open again for the season.It’s only $2 per person to tour, so a pack a picnic lunch and enjoy an affordable day of family fun!

3. First Friday: July 6

First Friday is turning five this week. Can you believe it? Celebrate its birthday in grand style with live music, an interactive art projects, kids crafts, free family movie, live theatre performances, and cake!

4. Herpetology Day: July 7

Reptile and amphibian lovers rejoice! From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wilderness Center you can partake in hikes in search of wild herps, create herp themed crafts and watch live animal presentations.

5. Five Oaks Summer Tour: July 8

The Five Oaks Victorian mansion is open for public tours at limited times during the year. Don’t miss out on your chance to view this beautiful home’s 10 fireplaces, silver and gold leafed walls and ceilings, Tiffany windows, and exquisite carved wood decorations.
