Jackson Township - Belden Village

Not too long ago Jackson Township was a rural community thriving with agriculture. Today, with a population of more than 42,500, Jackson Township is the leader in upscale new home construction in the county. The township is the county's retail center. The Westfield Belden Village mall and The Strip shopping areas consist of more than 140 restaurants and an ever-expanding retail and commercial center.

The Jackson Township park system consists of eight parks and approximately 300 acres, offering recreation and sports facilities to satisfy most everyone. Many community events, such as concerts, Community Celebration, Easter Egg Hunt and Holiday in the Park, are held in the parks. There are five private country clubs and more than 30 public links in the area. Also, Jackson Township is the home to Stark State College and the Stark Branch of Kent State University that includes the state-of-the-art Kent State Professional and Education Center. These adjacent campuses host the annual Jackson-Belden Food Fest & Fireworks and the Balloon Classic Invitational.
