This exhibit concentrates on the extremely important, but non-political role First Ladies play in international diplomatic relationships for our country. This exhibit will feature First Ladies Elizabeth Monroe, Harriet Lane, Helen Taft, Lou Hoover, Jackie Kennedy, Pat Nixon, Rosalynn Carter and Hillary Clinton.  On display will be gifts given to First Ladies from various countries around the world on loan from Presidential Libraries and Museums.

Tours Tuesday- Saturday 9:30, 10:30, 12:30, 1:30 & 2:30 September through May

Additional summer hours June - August on Sunday afternoons 12:30, 1:30 & 2:30

We had so much fun at Space Day last year, the International Year of Astronomy, we're doing it again! Galileo first pointed a telescope at the night sky in 1609 and astronomy was forever changed. Get in the spirit with Space Day. Take a trip through the solar system! Stop at each planet, the Moon, and the Sun for a simple experiment that emphasizes a concept about it. You can play with a solar-powered toy, create craters of Mercury, use 'radar' to discover the surface of Venus , enjoy the special attributes of Earth, take a walk in the Moon's gravity, erupt a Martian volcano, see the swirling storms of Jupiter, shoot a 'spaceship' through the rings of Saturn, Explore the strange Uranus, walk in the light on Neptune.

Come to the opening of Massillon's second annual Canstruction project!  Teams of local volunteers, each guided by an architect or engineer, will create giant sculptures created solely of cans of food.  Winners will be announced at the opening.  Local restaurants and food purveyors will provide refreshments for the party.  At the end of the exhibition (April 25), literally tons of canned goods will be donated to feed the hungry.  Admission is free, but please bring canned goods for the Akron/Canton Food Bank and the Massillon Salvation Army.

View beautifully crafted quilts and coverlets from the Museum's collection, dating back as far as the 1840s!  The exhibit will include crazy quilts, traditional patterns, coverlets woven by itinerant weavers, and commemorative McKinley campaign quilts.

We are pleased to announce an upcoming exhibition by Steve McCurry, one of today's most celebrated image makers. This collection of more than 50 iconic photographs will be on display for 8 weeks beginning on February's First Friday. Included in the exhibition is 'Afghan Girl' one of the most widely recognized images in the world. This image was collected when McCurry stitched rolls of film into his clothes and hiked across the Afghan border dressed as a goat herder. This harrowing act won McCurry the Robert Capa Gold Medal for Photography, one of many honors bestowed upon McCurry in his 30 year career.

In addition to the exhibition we hope to bring Steve McCurry himself to Canton to give lectures at the Canton Museum of Art and Malone University, as well as a book signing at the gallery on February 19th.

The Malone University Kawfee Haus Series continues with Joy Whitlock, Tuesday, March 16 at 9 p.m. in the Stewart Room of the Randall Campus Center, located on the Canton campus. Admission - $$5 general admission; FREE to Malone students; at the door.

Joy Whitlock is a Christian artist with what has been called a folk indie blend. She has recorded and released one EP, The Fake EP released in 2005, and one full-length album, God and a Girl released September 16, 2008, both on Ardent Records out of Memphis. The album was given four out of five stars by christianitytoday.com where she is compared to artists like Jennifer Knapp and Kendall Payne. Joy grew up in several different areas of Mississippi and spent a few years in Illinois as well. She moved to Memphis at the age of 17, and now considers it her home. Joy cites a trip to Nashville to see the Lilith Fair tour as her inspiration to learn to play music.
