The Tudor style house sits at the edge of Quail Hollow State Park allowing access to parks trails and facilities and offering a serene, relaxed setting. The spacious suites/bedrooms with their woodland themes feature Jacuzzi tubs and private decks. Head to Maize Valley Winery Saturday Evening for a Cane Burning Party!

Maize Valley Farm Market and Winery 3 miles East of Hartville, located at 6193 Edison St. NE (St. Rt. 619), is hosting a new event this Saturday, May 29th, a Cane Burning Party!

Pile of Canes Ready to be BurnedCane Burning? – no don’t take granny’s cane from her! “Cane” is another word for the grape vines that they have trimmed from their vineyards this spring. The canes have been gathered into a HUGE pile behind the farm market and winery by the hilltop pavilion. Maize Valley promises you an evening of food, music and fun!

Admission is a requested donation of $10 ($5 of which will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation). Admission includes your choice of burger or bratwurst, potato salad, chips, and fruit punch. There will also be ‘smores fixings available to enjoy around the fire. Music that evening will be provided by the ever popular “Me and This Other Guy.” Wine will also be available for purchase.

Kick off the summer season by doing something to help in the fight against breast cancer, and have fun at the same time. Festivities begin at 6 pm, with the “lighting of the canes” at 7, and the music will play until about 9:30. A jacket is suggested for cool evening weather. In case of inclement weather, the entire event will be rescheduled for the following Saturday, June 5.

Hartville MarketPlace to Celebrate Cinco de Mayo & the Kick-Off of the Outdoor Market

The Hartville MarketPlace invites you and your family to their Cinco de Mayo Celebration on Saturday, May 1st! They are teaming up with local Mexican restaurant Mi Casa for a fun and festive day at the MarketPlace. There will be cultural music and dancing at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Mi Casa restaurant will bring their fantastic tacos and nachos and there will be pinatas for the kids!

While you’re at the MarketPlace celebrate the kick-off to the 2010 outdoor flea market season! They will be welcoming back all of the outdoor vendors on Saturday, May 1st. You’ll find fresh fruits, vegetables, plants, flowers, antiques, food and more!

Hartville MarketPlace John Deere Days This Weekend

On Saturday, March 13, head down on the farm as the Hartville MarketPlace and Flea Market presents its annual John Deere Days event.

As in years past, the MarketPlace will give away a brand-new John Deere walk-behind lawnmower from Hartville Hardware to one lucky grand-prize winner. Drawing will be at 3pm.

There will also be a free cornhole tournament, but registration is limited to the first eight teams of two in three age groups. Winners and runners-up in each age group will receive MarketPlace gift certificates. Age groups are 8-12, 13-17 and 18 and older.

Enjoy live country music entertainment by the band 7 Roads to Nowhere, food specials including fried bologna sandwiches, suckers for the kids, giveaways, antique tractors on display and more. This family-friendly event is sure to be fun for all ages!

Celebrate Valentine’s Day 50′s-Style

On Saturday, February 13, travel back in time to an era of leather jackets, poodle skirts and patent leather shoes as the Hartville MarketPlace & Flea Market hosts its annual 50′s-style valentine celebration.

Relive the magic and remember the fun of the fabulous 50′s for a day. The Hartville MarketPlace will be turned into a 1950′s drive-in where you can share an old-fashioned root beer float for only $1.25 or bop to live 50′s tunes with the local singing trio AWB from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. MarketPlace employees and shop owners will be dressed in 50′s attire, and customers are encouraged to join in the fun. There will also be vintage cars on display, and other fun and games are planned throughout the day.

You could also win a one night stay at Quail’s Covey Bed & Breakfast in the grand prize giveaway. Enjoy a stay in their Dogwood Suite featuring a king-size four poster bed, sitting room complete with a chase lounge chair and view of the lake, and spacious private bath with large Jacuzzi tub and double head shower. The drawing will be at 2:15 p.m. and you must be present to win.
