North Canton Playhouse will proudly present the wildly popular musical comedy The Wedding Singer on July 23 – 25, 2010 at the Canton Palace Theatre, located at 605 Market Ave. N, in downtown Canton.
In THE WEDDING SINGER, Robbie Hart is Jersey’s favorite wedding singer. He’s the life of the party, until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who wins his affection. Only trouble is Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever. With a brand new score that pays loving homage to the pop songs of the 1980s, North Canton Playhouse’s version of THE WEDDING SINGER takes us back to a time when hair was big, greed was good, collars were up, and a wedding singer might just be the coolest guy in the room.
Shows will be performed Fri. and Sat. at 8 p.m. and Sun. at 2:30 p.m. Directed by Lisa Paynter and produced by special arrangement with Music Theatre International and sponsored in part by The Hoover Foundation.
Tickets are $20 for all shows and can be purchased online at CantonPalaceTheatre.org, or by calling the box office at (330) 494-1613. Walk-ins are welcome!

The North Canton Playhouse was just voted Best Performance Art in Stark County. You’ll see why with their latest production, The Crucible, which opens tonight.
A timeless tale of truth on trial, watch intently as you follow a dramatization of the 1692 Salem Witch Trials where many were jailed and hanged for their refusal to confess to witchcraft.
Throw into the mix young girls driven by the love of attention, a farmer whose mistakes lead to the accusation of his innocent wife, greedy preachers and landowners, and a surprising mix of the 21st century – and you have a show you do not want to miss.
The Crucible runs May 21 – June 6 (no performance on May 29). Show times are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are available online, by calling (330) 494-1613 or at the door and are $12 adults, $11 seniors (60+) and students (under 17).
