Niffer Clarke – Beyond the Ingenue at the Kathleen Howland Theatre

August 21, 2010

Join acclaimed New York actress and Canton native Niffer Clarke for an evening of singing the songs she loves, made famous by the women she grew up wanting to be – Julie Andrews, Shirley Jones and Barbara Cook.

These musical theatre icons, known to millions by the characters they made famous, such as Maria von Trapp from The Sound of Music, Laurey from Oklahoma!, and Marian the Librarian from The Music Man inspired Niffer as a young girl to want to get up on the stage, to sing their songs, and to breathe life into and give voice to these wonderful characters. They weren’t afraid of redefining the girl-next-door, and, as time and life went on, redefining themselves. This concert (and the upcoming CD!) is an homage to these women, and a glorious way for Niffer to thank them for taking her – and all of us – Beyond the Ingenue. Great songs, fun stories, even some insider tidbits!

Tickets won’t last long, are $15.00 each and can be purchased at 2nd April Galerie, by calling 330-451-0924 or online at www.secondapril.org/niffer.
